The Amazon.com Kindle is an electronic book reader. It is a handy, rechargeable device that allows you to download books, magazines and even newspapers over the Internet. In many cases it can even read the text to you. There are already over 285,000 books available for the Kindle. The initial price is offset as you buy books, as they cost less than their printed equivalent. New York Times bestsellers usually cost $9.99, versus $20 or more for hardcover versions.
