The Amazon.com Kindle is an electronic book reader. It is a handy, rechargeable device that allows you to download books, magazines and even newspapers over the Internet. In many cases it can even read the text to you. There are already over 285,000 books available for the Kindle. The initial price is offset as you buy books, as they cost less than their printed equivalent. New York Times bestsellers usually cost $9.99, versus $20 or more for hardcover versions.

June 10, 2009 – The Kindle DX is here! It has a much larger screen than the original, making it even easier to read magazine articles and view diagrams in books. It can hold up to 3,500 books, magazines and PDF documents. It can download a new book in under a minute using a 3G wireless link, meaning that you can get new material almost everywhere you go.
